The energy of Austin, where SXSW has just wrapped up, is still buzzing in my mind. On behalf of DEN, I got an impressive look at the future of media, technology, and culture. This unforgettable experience, with 100,000 like-minded individuals and a constant stream of relevant insights, was for me the perfect reason to share my thoughts with you in this way for the first time. The unmistakable rise of AI, not as a goal in itself, but as a powerful accelerator in all sectors, including ours, immediately stood out. This is a future that is increasingly becoming a reality and one we cannot ignore.
The impact of AI on creativity and culture
What struck me the most there, and what directly resonated with the challenges and opportunities we face in the cultural sector, was the central role of AI. Although there is undeniably still much to improve in this technology, there was a widely shared optimism about the potential of AI as a tool to enhance our creativity, optimize our processes, and create new, immersive experiences for our audiences. The ‘hands-on’ mentality and the focus on practical applications were particularly inspiring, especially in light of the unprecedented adoption rate of AI in the U.S.
Actively learning and getting inspired
This entire experience underscored for me how crucial it is for us as cultural professionals to actively learn about new developments, especially in sectors that also serve the public or have customers. Whether it’s inspiring big and small stories, from a new AI tool to a successful business model, it pays to look beyond the borders of our own sector.
The power of learning together at the DEN Conference
And that is exactly why we are organizing the online DEN Conference on June 12 and 13. The beauty of it is: we share the latest insights and inspiration digitally, so you don’t have to travel and can easily join together with colleagues or people from your network. I am convinced that we as a cultural sector now have the urgent opportunity to take the wheel in this digital transformation. But for that, it is essential to stay informed and inspired, and to learn from each other. The online DEN Conference is the place where we can do this together.
Immerse yourself in the latest insights on how the experience economy influences our sector, meet visionary speakers, and connect with colleagues who, like you, are shaping the future of digital culture. So, do you find that your organization wants to take digital steps, big or small? Make sure to be there. We’ll provide you with practical tools and the knowledge to gain new perspectives, so you can get started with inspiration and decisiveness!
I look forward to meeting you virtually at the DEN Conference!
