Step-by-step plan: starting with a digital strategy

Want to get started with a Digital Strategy? We help you take the steps needed. It’s important that a digital strategy doesn’t become a ‘static’ document that ends up in a drawer. A digital strategy is successful when it is part of your organizational strategy and is embraced by everyone in the organization. We guide you through the steps to create a practical strategy for your digital transformation process!

You can independently start documenting your digital strategy by following DEN's step-by-step plan.

1. Define where your organization currently stands digitally; what is the current situation?
2. Where does your organization want to go in the long term; what is your vision & ambition?
3. What digital projects arise from this; what needs to be executed?
4. How do you ensure your digital strategy evolves; where can adjustments be made?

1. Current situation

Where does your organization currently stand digitally? What is your organization's digital transformation maturity? Take the Digital Transformation Scan to find out where you stand. Why do you want to digitally transform and work on a digital strategy? What added value will it bring, and what is the risk of doing nothing?

2. Vision and ambition

Where do you want to go in the long term? Jointly formulate that goal on the horizon and the principles with your colleagues, involving both colleagues and management. Do this using our e-learning or invite us to facilitate a workshop. What do you want to maintain, develop, and phase out digitally? What goals do you set for your organization, and what is needed to achieve them? In your digital strategy, you also determine how you will implement it and what resources you will need.

"DEN brought us an afternoon full of inspiration, energy, and urgency about digitization. Above all, this is a practical workshop that has encouraged us to start thinking from the perspective of our cultural institution's audience. As the director of the Schoenenkwartier, I am very enthusiastic about this workshop. Do it with your team!"

3. Implementation

What digital projects arise from this? Ensure a structured approach with milestones. As an outcome of the e-learning and/or workshop, you will have an idea of which digital projects you want to implement. Communicate and discuss the digital strategy within your organization and use the DEN focus model to ensure that your digital projects are executed integrally within your organization.

4. Adjustments

How do you ensure your digital strategy evolves? Consider how you want to evaluate your strategy along the way, what data you can collect, and how you can measure your progress. This is determined in your digital strategy. To ensure you can make timely adjustments, regularly evaluate with your team and assess whether you are achieving the expected impact.
