About Erik
Previously, Erik worked as a researcher and project leader at the Scientific Council for Government Policy, addressing societal issues at the intersection of technology and policy. For instance, on new rules for the internet and dealing with artificial intelligence in society. Currently, Erik is a Lecturer in Crisis Management at the Dutch Institute for Public Safety. Within the DEN Supervisory Board, he examines how we as an organization can guide the handling of digital transformation.
“I think we are at a decisive moment in our interaction with digital technology. Not only in technical and economic terms but especially from a societal perspective. Digitization changes a lot, and you need to be willing to steer that process at different levels.”
A broader perspective offers opportunities. Many sectors face the same challenges in the field of digital transformation, Erik believes. "The cultural sector could look outward more to see how others are tackling digitization, for example, in higher education or the gaming industry."
