Workshop 'AI Policy and Ethics: Responsible Use of AI'

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is widely used in the cultural sector for various purposes. For example, to make collections accessible, analyze audience flows, and create creative content. These developments offer opportunities but also raise fundamental questions: How do you ensure that AI is used reliably, fairly, and sustainably? What does AI mean for creativity, privacy, copyright, or work? And how do you translate your values into concrete AI policy?

During this workshop
  • Learn to use AI responsibly
  • Discover ethical dilemmas and translate values into guidelines
  • Work with your colleague to develop a future-proof AI policy
Register for the workshop on May 28, 2026

In the workshop 'AI Policy and Ethics: Responsible Use of AI,' you will work practically with a colleague and other professionals from the cultural sector.

The workshop 'AI Policy and Ethics: Responsible Use of AI' consists of:

  • a four-hour on-site workshop;
  • an online intervision of one hour, four weeks after the workshop

Why this workshop?

AI touches the core of what cultural organizations do: telling stories, imagining, and connecting. At the same time, the technology brings ethical dilemmas regarding transparency, inclusion, sustainability, and responsibility.

Additionally, the European AI Act (opens in new tab) requires organizations to make conscious choices and make AI-related risks transparent. In this workshop, you will learn how to do this in a way that aligns with your mission, vision, and core values. Through exercises and the AI Policy Step-by-Step Plan (opens in new tab), we will work on an AI policy for your organization.

What you will learn

After this workshop:
  • You will have insight into the ethical dilemmas and societal impact of AI in the cultural sector

  • You will have taken the first concrete step towards an AI policy for your organization

  • You will be able to translate your organization's vision and values into clear guidelines for AI use

  • You will have practical tools to initiate and continue the conversation about AI within your organization

Online intervision after four weeks

Four weeks after the workshop, we will meet again during a one-hour online intervision. During this session, you can:

  • ask questions about your organization's AI policy;
  • share experiences about the first steps you have taken;
  • help each other with issues or dilemmas you have encountered in your organization.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is intended for employees from all levels of cultural organizations, from management to policy, education, IT, communication, and marketing.

To make a translation for your organization, we require you to register with one (or more) colleagues from your organization from another team. This way, you can brainstorm together and have support for the AI policy within your organization.

Participation requirement: at least two professionals per organization must participate.

Why participate?

  • You will guide the use of AI in your organization.
  • You will build an AI policy that is future-proof and supported.
  • You will learn from colleagues in the sector and discover what works in practice.
