An executing organisation: your next steps

You are an executing organisation. You are able to implement digital initiatives. So how do you take the next step towards a more integrated organisation? Find out on this page.

You are an executing organisation

Your organisation is in the third phase of digital transformation. Make digital transformation a pillar of your strategy and put your audience at the center of your focus. Create more cohesion between different initiatives. Continue drawing in knowledge and invest in an innovative organisation culture to firmly establish a learning organisation.

Component 1: Strategy and budget

Prioritise digital marketing as a strategic issue on your agenda, as a means to reach more and new visitors. Also consider which societal values could form part of your strategy. Flesh out the preliminary conditions for digital initiatives and test new initiatives against them. Use the lessons learned through your digital initiatives to assess your vision and strategy: are online and offline fully integrated and is the audience fully at the center of your focus? Do the results of the costs of the digital initiatives match our prognosis?

Component 2: Culture and competencies

Make sure that an innovative organisation culture becomes the standard for co-workers. Consider things like iterative working processes, room to develop new ideas, collaboration, experimenting and open communication. Stimulate knowledge sharing throughout the organisation.

Component 3: Audience and value

Make sure that the results of digital activities can be implemented and applied throughout the organisation. This way, you can stimulate data-driven working methods. A result could be, for instance, that a creative process takes a different direction based on visitors’ data. Evaluate the use of new online channels for your products and services and use the lessons learned when planning your further development in this regard.

Component 4: Data and technology

The world is constantly changing, and it is important to be and remain aware of new developments. Continue to draw in knowledge about technology and digital transformation through (new) collaborative ventures, both within and outside the sector. Use the new knowledge to experiment with and to encourage co-workers to come up with new ideas.

Component 5: Processes and structure

The next phase in digital development is connecting. This can be achieved by creating synergy, by tying together separate digital projects. If necessary, adjust your organisation structure, processes and systems to this end.

Monitor your progress

The information on this page will help you make a next step in digital transformation. But what is the impact of your efforts? Save the results of the Digital Transformation Scan and monitor your activities. Perform the scan again in 6 or 12 months from now to see the progress achieved by your organisation.
