From individual projects to a shared direction

To digitally transform as an organization, you need to take action. You do this by defining and executing concrete projects. Each project contributes to the larger movement: from digitizing document storage to implementing a new CRM system. But digital transformation without a goal is like traveling without a map. As an organization, you need a shared vision. What do we want to achieve with digitization? By formulating shared goals, you create support and connection. This results in a roadmap, a digital strategy, with a path that everyone in the organization can align with.

Change management is crucial

Every step within digital transformation requires change. Sometimes it’s a relatively small adjustment, other times it’s a significant change, for example, when the entire organization switches to a new way of working within a new system. The impact varies depending on the number of employees who need to work differently and the extent of the adjustments in their daily practices.

The larger the change, the more important change management becomes. Engaging people in the change is essential. You can only truly innovate digitally if employees understand why the change is necessary. They also need to feel safe to learn and make mistakes and feel supported and guided.

Formulate goals together

An organization can only truly change if the people within that organization change. This means that every colleague is part of the process. Encourage discussions, gather wishes and needs, and formulate goals together. By being mindful of the number of changes that occur simultaneously, you can prevent overload and create space to carefully guide each step.

Make digital change positive

Change often evokes resistance, and digital changes are often perceived as extra daunting or complex. That’s why it’s important to approach change positively. What does it deliver? How does it make your work easier or more efficient? If employees have a good experience with change, they will approach the next step with more confidence.
