What can you expect?
You literally step into the world of immersive: creators present their work, and you experience it as a visitor. Not reading about the technology, not listening to someone else, but experiencing it yourself. This way, you not only get an idea of the technology but also of its impact and what it can evoke in an audience.
Many cultural organizations are curious about immersive technology but are unsure where to start. The afternoon combines experiencing immersive technology yourself with a substantive program. A creator takes you through their work and process. An external speaker zooms in on broader developments in the field: what works, what does it require, and where are the opportunities for the cultural sector?
Afterwards, you will engage in discussions with colleagues from the cultural sector on various topics: how can I start? What do I need for this? What does it cost, and what are useful tips? These questions are central to this afternoon meeting, organized by DEN and Innovation:LAB (opens in new tab) for cultural professionals who want to explore the immersive field.
May 19 for cultural organizations with a collection
The first meeting on May 19 in Utrecht is aimed at cultural organizations with a collection: museums, archives, and theaters with a digitized archive. The number of places is limited, so sign up quickly! A maximum of 2 participants per organization.
September 15 for performing arts
We are also organizing a day for performing arts: theaters, stages, (pop) venues, festivals, and other forms of live experiences. This will take place on September 15. The location will be announced later. Sign up for the Immersive Experience Day for performing arts. (opens in new tab)
Innovation:Lab (opens in new tab) is a research and development platform where art, technology, and science come together to stimulate artistic innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultural renewal. Innovation:Lab is a partner of DEN.
